As the holiday season begins, there’s no better way to kick off the spirit of giving than by supporting a local treasure that resonates with the soul of New York City – the New York Skyliners Drum and Bugle Corps. This Giving Tuesday, let’s dive into the rhythm and purpose of giving as we explore the incredible impact this musical force has on our community.

The New York Skyliners Drum and Bugle Corps isn’t just a drum and bugle corps; it’s a living, breathing testament to the power of music and community. For decades, they have filled the air with the soul-stirring sounds of drums and bugles, captivating audiences and creating lasting memories. Their performances, marked by precision, passion, and pride, have become an integral part of the city’s cultural tapestry.

This Giving Tuesday, the New York Skyliners are calling on their community to join forces and ensure the beat goes on. Your support is crucial in enabling them to continue their mission of spreading joy, fostering talent, and creating a sense of unity through music. Every dollar contributed goes directly towards supporting the education, outreach, and performances that define the New York Skyliners’ impact.

There is no other sound like it in the world. The sounds of a Drum Corps brass line returned to the field for our Summer Series Brass and Percussion Event. Over 40 brass players joined our percussion group for a great day of fun and world class instruction. The corps welcomed guest clinician, Dr. David Earll, who joined our Brass Caption Head, Tony Godoy, and Show Coordinator, Timmy Allen in leading the corps through some technique and performance exercises. A fantastic mix of veterans and new faces showed how much can be accomplished with focus and enthusiasm, and we are eagerly looking forward to continuing to develop our 2022 program “Slaughter”. We are excited to announce plans for a Skyliners Summer Series of events to be scheduled for the summer of 2021. After carefully considering the options for participating in the DCA Virtual Competitive Season, we have decided instead to spend this summer exploring unique performance opportunities and community events that have not been possible during a normal competitive season. We will also be continuing to develop our “Slaughter” production that was shaping up to be an exciting part of our 75th Anniversary before we had to suspend operations due to pandemic restrictions. We look forward to finally being able to perform this program in the 2022 competition season as we celebrate what will be our 77th Anniversary. If you would like more information about how you can be a part of our proud history, please submit the interest form on our website.
